Step 6: Determine how you will you measure your
success
A social media strategy is a long term monitor of your
activities on social media. You cannot quickly see the
results of your activities with it. Success in social media can
only be seen through patience and perseverance.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be
perfect and entire, wanting nothing - James 1:4
You have to know how you are going to determine
whether your being on social media makes a difference to
your church/ministry or not. Determine how you will
evaluate if your social media strategy is being effective.
Determine how you will measure and know how many likes
you have and how many times people engage with you on
the different social media platforms.
You can look at the different measuring and listening
tools we have listed in the chapter on managing your social
media platforms and try them out to decide which you feel
comfortable using.
Step 7: Create an action plan
You must create an action plan as part of your social
media strategy to regulate your activities on social media .
a. Engagement plan: In your action plan you must write
how you want to engage with your audience. How many
times and the frequency daily, weekly or monthly
As a minister you may wish to post at least once or twice a
week. One post to remind them of the sermon of last Sunday
or bring out some points from the sermon. The other post
may be to give insight or a peep at what your next sermon
