church or ministry goals and plan accordingly to create the
content.
This will entail having a social media strategy and also
creating an editorial calendar to keep your posts
organized. I have discussed a bit more in details about these
two in the chapter below on managing your social media.
5. DO NOT SCHEDULE POSTS
You cannot be very successful in social media if you do
not schedule your posts.
Scheduling your posts are smart for two reasons. First,
you will be able to use your time efficiently. Second, when
you post when your audience is online this will result in
higher engagement.
For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth
not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he
have sufficient to finish it? Luke 14: 28
Scheduling your posts is fine as long as you engage with
your audience and keep your ear to the ground to ensure
that you can quickly take down any prescheduled post that
can be taken the wrong way because of a local or national
news event.
6. DO NOT INTERACT
Many ministers and church leaders are especially guilty
of not interacting on social media. When someone connects
with your account you need to interact with them. Do not
ignore them. Respond to them. Engage them. That is why
the word social is in social media.
