consolidates the knowledge of former
business owners who’ve successfully sold
their businesses, as well as the wisdom of
Cooper Parry’s team of experts.
We’ve worked with business owners
over many years providing corporate
and personal advice. Across hundreds
of transactions we’ve seen what drives
success and the obstacles owners may
face. We also understand that selling a
business can be an emotional journey, one
that can be taxing - not just literally!
This report contains enlightening
information about the sale process, as well
as the period of planning that precedes it.
As is frequently the case, the most valuable
advice comes from those who have lived it.
To create the report we surveyed a group
made up of experienced business owners
who’ve all been through the sale process.
We asked questions about their reasons for
selling, the planning process, the sale itself
and what happened when it was complete.
We’ve included stories from those who
have earned their spurs. They share, in
their words, the highs, lows, challenges
and successes they have experienced.
Contrary to what you might expect, the
ultimate challenge isn’t always extracting
the largest financial value possible. The
