degrees angles facing you and the camera is in the middle.
The 2 lights are called a. the key light, and b. the fill
light. The key light is the brightest of the two lights, and
serves as the primary source of illumination in the scene.
The fill light is as the name implies it fill in light that the key
light does not cover. It complements the key light by softly
lighting the parts of you that is not illuminated by the key
light. It eliminates the dark shadows around you. Make
sure you make your fill lights half as bright as your key
lights.
ii. Three-point lightening setup
The three point lightening set up is a step up from the
two-point lighting system. Recording with the three point
lightening system will make your videos look really polished
and elegant.
Again just like the 2 point lightening system you sit in the
middle and face the camera. You have one light to your left
and the other to your right at 45 degrees angle. One will be
the key light and the other the fill light. Then you now add a
third light which is called the rim (or “back”) light behind
you to shine on you at 45 degrees angle also
The rim light creates highlights from behind you and
gives a polished and professional effect to your video..
iii. Four-point lightening setup
The Four-point lighting set up is exactly the same as the
three-point lightening setup with the addition of a fourth
light which is called the background light. The key, fill, and
rim lights illuminate you, while the background light
illuminates the background.
