I have always wanted to be in the medical field. I went to
B I O
college to become a respiratory therapist.

I had taken all of the prerequisites A&P 1 and 2. Medical
Terminology, Chemistry, and a brief class of pharmacology.
I became a mother and at the time made the decision to put
my career on hold. Moved to Arkansas and chose a path
of 911 dispatch. I worked as a dispatcher for many years.
But wanting to be I. The medical field remained with me. I
had several friends in patient accounts at a local hospital
mentioned that medical coding was a good career. I took a
class each Saturday for several months to obtain my Coding
Certification.

I have been certified now since 2003. I love coding. I
have continued to learn. And still love my career path as a
Certified Medical Coder. I love learning the new specialties
and all new aspects of the coding realm.
