For a closed group anyone can see the group and the
members but cannot see the discussions unless they
request to be added and are accepted and added as
members of the group.
For secret group- anyone can see the group but cannot
see the members or the group discussions.

When you want to promote an event you are having, you
can set up an event page for the specific date and time it will
be held. You can add different people to co-host the event.
From the event page you and other co hosts can invite
people on your friends list to attend the event.
Your events can be public, private or somewhere in
between events.

You can pay to advertise on Face book and reach a wider
audience than your friends and friends of your friends. You
target a certain demographic and boost your post to reach
them.
