c. User account personalization: Social Media sites
usually give their users the ability to configure their user
setting and customize their profile pages to look a certain
way. They also allow them to manage the way they see the
information they see in their news feed, organize their
friends and followers and give feedback on what they want
and do not want to see.
d. Corporate Profile Pages: Social Media sites allow
individual users to create profile pages for their businesses,
organizations or their brands to communicate about what
they do. These corporate profile pages will include
information about the businesses or organization, their
logo, about themselves, their website, feed of their recent
posts, recommendations, recent activity and more.
e. Groups: Social Media sites usually permit for
individuals to create groups for their common causes and
subjects of interest that members of the group can interact
with others.
f. Connections & Interactions: Social media platforms
allow for account holders to invite friends and followers to
like their accounts. If you can set up an account on the site
and set up groups and use #hashtag to group your posts
then the site is a social media site. This is because
individuals and organizations can use their accounts to
connect with other users. They can also use them to
subscribe to certain forms of information.
g. Like buttons & comment sections: Two other give
away signs of a social media site that allow us to interact
with other users is the ability to utilize buttons on it to "like"
other users posts as well as the ability to make comments
