2. INTERNET AND WORLD WIDE WEB

A basic understanding of how the internet and the world
wide web work is necessary to understand how using social
media as a tool for ministry and global evangelism will
function.
Many people use the terms Internet and World Wide Web
(aka. the Web) interchangeably, but in fact the two terms
are not the same thing or synonymous. The Internet and
the Web are two separate but related things.

a. What is The Internet?
The Internet is a global system of
interconnected computer networks. The
internet connects millions of computers
all over the world together, forming a
huge network in which any computer can
communicate with any other computer as long as they are
both connected to the internet.
It is a network of networks that consists of private,
public, academic, business, and government networks of
local to global scope, linked by a broad array of electronic,
wireless, and optical networking technologies.
