P. 44
T he use of social media by the body of Christ is on the
increase for ministry and global evangelism but we
still have to address some of the known issues of
social media that have caused fear and been a deterrent and
caused the body of Christ to pull back from embracing
social media.
Some of these common fears are as follows:
1. TIME CONSUMING AND DISTRACTING
A lot of ministers complain that social media takes a lot of
their time and distracts them from their regular activities of
praying, preparing for sermons and other ministry work..
This should not be the case. You need to learn how to
structure your time and build a team to help with your posts
and managing your social media platforms. There are also
tools that you can use to help manage your social media
platforms and we will talk more about them in a later
chapter on management of your social media platforms.
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and
to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and
that they might have it more abundantly.”
John 10:10
If you come to social media with the mindset that there
are millions of souls perishing out there, and your post can
reach some of them and reconnect them with Jesus and
bring back to life you will be motivated to always schedule
time to create content and manage your social media
platforms.
