3b. WhatsApp User Statistics
As per Q4 2017 stats, WhatsApp had 1.5 Billion monthly
users from more than 180 countries. The significant rise in
users was what Facebook noticed and acquired WhatsApp.
Before the acquisition WhatsApp had one-third of the users
it currently has.
As per the latest statistics as of January 2019, WhatsApp
has more users than Facebook Messenger (in top
messaging services). China-based messaging apps WeChat
and QQ Mobile are the messaging apps that take 3rd and
4th place.
