Despite facing a stay at home order
and having our programs cease
with little notice, our Gems and
Jewels rose to the occasion by
continuing to meet on a weekly
basis through our Digital Diamond
Days Virtual program.
They modeled courage in the face
of adversity and showed with their
flexibility and determination that
they are stronger and more
resilient than any of us could have
ever imagined. We are extremely
proud of our DITR family!
During the pandemic, Diamond In The Rough didn't PANIC but instead we PIVOTED. Within one
week of receiving a stay at home notice from local officials and having to cancel our regular
face-to-face programs, we took our weekly mentoring programs virtual with our Digital
Diamond Days, hosting weekly sessions each Saturday morning via Zoom. We learned that
even social distancing couldn't keep our DITR family apart.
