                                                                                                 A Multiple Listing Service, or MLS, is a marketing
                                                                                                 database set up by Real Estate Brokers.

                                                                                                 Its purpose is to provide accurate and structured data
                                                                                                 about properties for sale and rent.


                                                                                                 It is also a mechanism for listing real estate brokers
                                                                                                 to offer compensation to other real estate brokers
                                                                                                 who bring a buyer or renter to their properties.

                                                                                                 It is very efficient, in that every broker wants as many
                                                                                                 other brokers as possible to see their listings and
                                                                                                 bring as many buyers/renters who have an interest.

                                                                                                 The MLS is the bloodline of the real estate industry
                                                                                                 and is responsible for over 90% of all real estate
                                                                                                 transactions.
